THE CO-OP CONNECTIONS DISCOUNT PROGRAM is part of Palmetto Electric Cooperative’s efforts to help members save money. We’re happy to report that it’s working well.
According to Touchstone Energy, South Carolina electric co-ops are No. 1 in the country in total member
savings using the Co-op Connections card for pharmacy discounts. Statewide, total member savings
topped $2 million in March. The closest competitor is Georgia with $1.6 million.
Palmetto Electric introduced Co-op Connections in June 2009. Several other South Carolina electric
cooperatives also introduced the program last year.
Touchstone Energy Cooperatives, a national alliance of more than 680 independent, consumer-owned electric
co-ops, initiated Co-op Connections in May 2007. Members of Palmetto Electric Cooperative and 282 other
participating Touchstone Energy co-ops nationwide have saved more than $16 million on prescription drugs
since then. You can also use your card to save at hotels, motels and amusement parks around South
