Fun and games — and safety
Summer and kids go together
naturally but, as the saying
goes, "It's all fun and games
until someone gets hurt!"
To help kids "Play It Safe,"
Palmetto Electric will once
again sponsor its annual Safety
Days July 20 and 21.
Kids ages 6–11 can learn
safety skills from local
professionals during these
free summer day camps. The
program, now in its 22nd year,
includes water, fire, bike,
internet and electrical safety.
In addition, wildlife experts
will teach outdoor/woods
safety with the help of real,
live, furry (or slimy) critters
sponsored by The River 98.7 FM. To top
it off, Linny
the Lineman
will be on
hand to give
away a boy's and
a girl's bicycle at each event.
Lunch will be provided for
each participant and there is
no admission charge. Please
make reservations by calling
Virginia Gaffney at 1 (800)
922-5551.
