Palmetto Electric’s support of the Touchstone Energy Bowl is something to cheer about. Five local players took the field for the winning South Team at the Touchstone Energy Cooperatives Bowl Dec. 14 at Doug Shaw Memorial Stadium in Myrtle Beach.

The players selected from our area were DeShareoh Williams (Wade Hampton High School), Rakim White (Bluffton High School), Brandon Wilson (Battery Creek High School), Terry Fields (May River High School), James Dagin (Beaufort High School) and Evan Hayes (Bluffton High School).
These young men got one last opportunity to play high school football, but they also had a chance to give back by surprising some younger students from Horry County with a shopping spree at Target.

Players on opposing sides partnered up to take a child shopping. Wilson paired with the North’s Hayden Johnson (right) of Clover High. The experience gave needy children a Christmas to remember, while the players gained a rewarding memory they will never forget.
Palmetto Electric and South Carolina’s 18 other Touchstone Energy Co-ops began sponsoring the game in 2013 to demonstrate their shared value of commitment to community.
