Three rising high school seniors represented Palmetto Electric in June on the Washington Youth Tour, a five-day, expense-paid educational trip to Washington, D.C. This summer, Palmetto also co-sponsored a new event, the S.C. Cooperative Youth Summit, held July 26-28. Co-ops across the state planned the Columbia summit to give students a way to enhance their leadership skills, learn about co-ops and observe state government. Set to attend were Sophia Topping of Hilton Head High, Michaela Williams of Ridgeland-Hardeeville High and Nicole Polk of Step of Faith Christian Academy.
