IF YOU HAVEN’T already joined the movement, now is the time. Approximately 45,000 co-op members from across South Carolina are helping Beat the Peak and reduce wholesale power costs.
According to a recent impact study, the innovative program in which cooperative members across the state reduce their energy consumption at strategic times has saved South Carolina’s electric cooperatives $618,195 since its inception in 2018. So far in 2020, peak alert savings have totaled $251,713 and counting. That’s savings Palmetto Electric has used to keep costs as low as possible for its members.
Palmetto Electric members who register for the Beat The Peak program by Dec. 15 will be eligible to win a $500 Visa gift card in a statewide prize drawing. In addition, one Palmetto Electric member will win a $100 gift card from a local prize drawing.
If you are already participating in Beat The Peak, it is not necessary to register again to be eligible for the prizes.
By registering, you’ll receive an alert that shows the projected time of a system-wide energy peak. By voluntarily delaying the use of large appliances, adjusting your thermostat, or just turning off some lights during that peak time, you’ll be helping to lower wholesale power costs.
