Jenny Ballard Opportunity Scholarship

The WIRE Opportunity Scholarship is awarded to a woman who may not have been able to attend college when she graduated from high school, but now wants to further her education. WIRE (Women Involved in Rural Electrification) awards the scholarship based on financial need and personal goals.

Palmetto Electric WIRE

WIRE (Women Involved in Rural Electrification), a women’s organization of Palmetto Electric Cooperative, Inc., will be awarding two $1,000 scholarships in our three-county service area. High School seniors living in southern Beaufort, Jasper or Hampton counties have a shot at the WIRE scholarships, which reward applicants with average or better grades who demonstrate financial need.

Washington Youth Tour

Each year, three local high school juniors are chosen to represent Palmetto Electric Cooperative in the Rural Electric Youth Tour, a weeklong educational trip to Washington, D.C. The Youth Tour gives students a chance to see government in action, visit historical sites and learn all about electric cooperatives.
